Share files, folders and pages

Upload files, organise them in folders, tell people something new is there, and write pages everyone can edit together.

Every space and every group has a Files area. Space files are for everyone in the space; group files are for that group only.

Upload files

  1. Open Files and click Upload files, or drag files straight onto the page.
  2. Pick the files. Images, PDFs and videos get a preview; everything else shows as a file card.
  3. Tick Notify to Let people know new files have been uploaded. It sends a notification to everyone the folder is for.

Uploading needs the Upload files permission, which members have by default.

Folders

Click New folder, give it a Name and create it. When you create a folder inside a group, Joyn tells you Only people within this group can access this folder; at space level it is Everyone within the space can access this folder. That access follows the folder wherever it is moved.

Folders can have a cover image: open the folder's menu and choose Edit cover.

Move, rename, share

Right-click a file, or open its menu, for Rename, Move and Delete. Select several files to move them together.

Copy link gives you a link to the file that only people in the space can open. Paste it into a channel to point at a document without uploading it twice.

Pages

A Page is a document you write inside Joyn rather than uploading. Several people can edit the same page at the same time, and changes are saved as you type. Create one from the upload menu, and open it later from the file list.

Pages can be read on the mobile app. Editing is on the web for now.

Storage

Files count toward the space's storage limit, shown on the space front page. See Set up your space.
