Polls live inside the conversation channels: Chat, Messages and Announcements. They are the fastest way to settle "which Saturday?" without forty replies.
Create one
- Open the channel and click the poll option in the message composer. The dialog is called Create poll.
- Write the Question, for example Which date works for the summer party?
- Under Answers, type each option. Add as many as you need.
- Tick Allow multiple answers if people may pick more than one.
- Set the Duration, or an End date, to decide when the poll Closes at. Leave it open if you want to close it yourself.
- Post it.
The poll appears in the channel like a message. Everyone who can read the channel can vote.
Reading the results
Each answer shows its share of the votes and who chose it. An option nobody picked says This answer has no votes. People can change their vote until the poll closes.
In group channels, Joyn posts a short notice in the channel when the poll closes, so nobody has to scroll back to find the result.
Tips
- Put the poll in Announcements when you need everyone to see it and nobody to argue underneath it.
- A poll is a message, so it can be replied to and reacted to like any other post.
