A plan limit
If you see a message like Channel limit reached for this space's plan, Group limit reached for this space's plan or Member limit reached for this space's plan, the space is full for its plan. The button is not broken; it is waiting.
- Free - 100 members, 3 channels, 2 groups, 5 GB of storage.
- Team - unlimited members, 200 channels, 200 groups, 500 GB.
- Community - unlimited members, 200 channels, 200 groups, 2 TB.
To get room back, delete a channel or group you no longer use, or remove members who have left. Or upgrade: open Settings, go to Billing and click Compare plans. See Plans and billing.
Storage works the same way: when the meter on the space front page is full, uploads wait until files are deleted or the plan grows.
Other limits are per feature rather than per plan, such as the number of roles or reactions on one message. The message names which one.
A missing permission
If there is no error but the button is simply not there, you do not have the permission for it:
- Creating channels needs Channels.
- Creating groups needs Manage groups.
- Inviting people needs Create invitations.
- Removing people needs Remove members.
- Uploading files needs Upload files.
Ask an admin. They can turn the switch on for all members under Settings, Permissions and Default permissions for all members, or give you a role that includes it. See Roles and permissions.
Inside a group
A group's channels and files follow the space's permissions, but only group members see them. If you cannot see a group at all, you are not in it; ask a group admin to add you, or an admin to give members View all groups.
